CO-ED GODDESS GATHERING/AFTER PARTY - OCTOBER 24, 2009

While were a bit light on the "Co" aspect of this Gathering (where are all the men hiding??), the men that were present were great! Ladies, please thank your male guests for showing up and being fully present.

The topic was "What I Wanted To Be and What I Am Being Now". The exercise involved us sharing what our childhood dream profession was and the qualities of being we possessed when talking about our future job. We then asked everyone to share what their current job is and if those same qualities apply. A lively and eye-opening discussion ensued. I think a lot of us realized that we don't have that childhood "jump out of bedness" about our current career or life even.

My lovely co-host and husband, Chris, really encouraged everyone to rediscover that quality and apply it to not just their jobs, but their entire life. It's that zest for life that makes it that much more enjoyable and exciting. Both the men and the women left knowing they had the power to transform how they feel about life and their careers.

We then did my favorite part of our Gatherings - the Acknowledgements. Wow!!! If this were a competition (and it's not), the men would have won because they acknowlegded the woman they attended with so lovingly and passionately. When we were done, I don't think there was a dry eye in the room (it was mostly the ladies. I won't throw you under the bus, fellas!).

My sincere thanks to everyone who attended for fully playing and BEING amazing people!





Then the After Party started! DJ Rell provided the tunes and everyone continued sharing and getting to know one another. We ate, drank, and danced the night away. Like I always say, you have not partied until you've partied with the Goddesses. Right, ladies?!?!?!









Our next Co-Ed Goddess Gathering is in April 2010. Ladies, start working on your male guest now. : )

Goddess Outreach Gathering - On Friday, October 16, the Goddess Gathering hosted its first Outreach Gathering with the women of Beyond Shelter (www.beyondshelter.org).

Thanks to all of my amazing Goddess sisters who donated their time and co-facilitated this special Gathering with me. The women in attendance are dealing with varying levels of homelessness. The topic was "Possibility Begins With Belief" and we encouraged them to DREAM and see past their current circumstances. The conversation that ensued was inspiring, thought-provoking, and transformational. We supported them as they began to create the reality they truly desire by declaring it into existence. We were so touched by these brave women and know that the dreams they shared with us WILL come true.

Natural Hair Workshop - On Saturday, October 10, Tomiko held a "Natural Hair Workshop" at her home. This workshop was led by our very own Goddess Felicia. Felicia is versed in working with all types of hair, but she specializes in natural hair. We were lucky to have such a skilled stylist share her tips with us.

I know we all left with not only knowledge on how to style and adorn our hair, but with a renewed sense of pride in our natural locks. Thanks Felicia!!!

Childcare Now Available At The Goddess Gathering!

We are happy to announce that childcare is now provided at the Goddess Gathering.

We have secured a licensed childcare professional to take care of the children while the Gathering is taking place. Geney Warner from "Geney's Little Blessings, Curriculum Based Family & Child Care" will be taking care of the children in a room right next door to where the Gathering is taking place. They will receive a light snack and be entertained by such things as educational DVD's and/ or movie, story time, and game playing.

The cost is $20 per child. This will cover your child's care by the licensed professional, a snack and entertainment for the duration of the Gathering, (1:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.). Please note, there must be a minimum of 3 children to be able to provide this service. Goddess Moms may contact our Event Coordinator, Ailia Coley-McKinney, directly to reserve a spot for their child/children at events@tomikosgoddessgathering.com. Please be prepared to provide the name and age of each child and any special instructions or dietary needs.

A minimum of 3 children are needed to confirm Ms. Warner's services. We require all requests be received by November 14, 2009 for our November 21st Anniversary Brunch Celebration.

* Please note that the daycare hours stated above refer to our regular monthly Gatherings. The daycare hours for the Brunch are 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
