SAVE THE DATES!
October 24, 2009 - Co-Ed Goddess Gathering - It's that time again, ladies! Time to bring that special fella in your life to a Gathering. : ) For those of you that haven't had the pleasure of attending our Co-Ed Gathering, you are in for a treat. The guys ALWAYS arrive terrified ("Are they gonna make me cry?") and ALWAYS leave wanting to start a group of their own. I'm not kidding. It's pretty cute. : )
My husband co-hosts with me and we have a great time. You are allowed to bring one male guest of your choosing (husband, brother, co-worker, mailman) with you. You do not have to bring a male guest to attend. Many Goddesses attend solo as well. All males guests are required to pay the $25 fee as well. As always, space will be limited, so RSVP as soon as possible. RSVPs for this Gathering will be accepted on our website beginning October 1st. Mark your calendars and think about who you'd like to invite as your guest.
And if that wasn't enough, we will have an "After Gathering Party" at the lovely BLVD 16 (bar/lounge/restaurant) at Hotel Palomar where our monthly Gatherings are held. You are encouraged to invite all of your friends (male and female) to join us. Special Guest DJ - DJ RELL will keep the vibe grown and sexy. : ) You don't want to miss this one.
November 21, 2009 - Tomiko Fraser's Goddess Gathering 5-Year Anniversary Brunch - Can you believe it's been 5 years since this amazing sisterhood began?!?!? Wow, time sure flies when you're getting empowered! I hope you'll join us for this very special brunch. There will be guest speakers, Goddess Honors, entertainment, gift bags and best of all, the company of your Goddess sisters! Come and celebrate the Goddess in you! Ticket costs and additional details will be available soon.

THE GODDESS GATHERING IN LONDON!!!
On Tuesday, September 8th, I hosted my very first Goddess Gathering in London. It was amazing!!!
Though we were small in number, we were large in Goddess Empowerment! The ladies that attended the Gathering were warm, funny, nervous, and courageous. Thanks to all of my new Goddess sisters in London for taking part in this premiere Gathering. I will be back very soon! That's a promise.

August 22nd Goddess Gathering - Los Angeles
The topic for this Gathering was "I See Me". I asked the ladies to bring a picture of themselves as a baby or young girl to the Gathering. After spending a few moments looking at their own picture, I instructed them to write a letter to their younger self telling her all of the things she would experience in her life. I asked them to support, nurture and empower her through all of the situations based on the knowledge they gained from living through it.
The purpose of the exercise was for the ladies to empower their younger self, thereby empowering their present adult self. The ladies were ask to remember their "younger self" is always present and to handle her as you would any child dealing with the sometimes difficult journey of life. We too often beat ourselves up for not handling a situation a certain way or we consider ourselves failures. I am here to remind you, my lovely Goddess Sisters, to be gentle with your "inner little girl".
Part 2 of the exercise involved the Goddesses attempting to "see" themselves in a mirror. I asked for volunteers to participate and several women jumped at the opportunity (even if they were scared to do so). Three at a time, the Goddesses were asked to look in a mirror and say "I See Me" until they TRULY saw themselves - flaws, shortcomings, fears and all. They were not only supported by me, but by a Goddess who held the mirror and acted as a mirror for her Goddess sister.
Thank you to all of the courageous women who participated in the exercise. I can honestly say that some of the views held by a Goddess about herSELF were changed. The ladies that chose not to participate also gained great insight into themselves by bearing witness to their Goddess sisters' bravery. They also maintained a loving vibration in the room as their Goddess sisters went through the exercise.
The Empowerment assignment for this month is to practice Mirror Work. Everyday until our next Gathering, spend at least 3 minutes "seeing" yourSELF in the mirror. However you're feeling that day, SEE yourSELF and let it be. Try not to judge it or make it wrong. Just SEE yourSELF. Remember your "little girl" and what you would say to her. SEE her in the mirror too. Please journal your experience. You will be able to share it at our next Gathering, leave a comment on our Facebook page, or write a letter to the "Ask Tomiko" section of our website.
We want to share in your transformation. We KNOW the real you is in there just waiting to come out and shine in this world! : )

Goddess Potluck Pool Party - August 16, 2009
In addition to our monthly Gatherings, outreach programs, and social activities, the Goddesses like to have fun! We were able to do just that at our "Goddess Potluck Pool Party" a few weeks ago. Many thanks to our Goddess sister, Karen W. for opening her home and heart to us.
In addition to the music, conversation and grubbing (that's slang for "we ate a lot!), we played "So What!" This is a game I made up while preparing for the party. I was having some issues about how I looked in my bathing suit (yes, I have those too) and I thought the other ladies must be experiencing the same thing. So each of us stated in front of the group what our particular issue about coming to the pool party was (no time to shave/wax, couldn't make the dish I wanted, I was running late, etc.) and we lovingly said "So What!" to each and every issue. What a relief to let go of that thing that made us feel smaller than our grand selves. I love that game and happily share it with all of you. Use "So What!" as often as you need or like.

Childcare Now Available At The Goddess Gathering!
We are happy to announce that childcare is now provided at the Goddess Gathering.
We have secured a licensed childcare professional to take care of the children while the Gathering is taking place. Geney Warner from "Geney's Little Blessings, Curriculum Based Family & Child Care" will be taking care of the children in a room right next door to where the Gathering is taking place. They will receive a light snack and be entertained by such things as educational DVD's and/ or movie, story time, and game playing.
The cost is $20 per child. This will cover your child's care by the licensed professional, a snack and entertainment for the duration of the Gathering, (1:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m.). Please note, there must be a minimum of 3 children to be able to provide this service. Goddess Moms may contact our Event Coordinator, Ailia Coley-McKinney, directly to reserve a spot for their child/children at events@tomikosgoddessgathering.com. Please be prepared to provide the name and age of each child and any special instructions or dietary needs.
A minimum of 3 children are needed to confirm Ms. Warner's services. We require all requests be received by September 19, 2009 for our September 26th Gathering.

Goddess Plans for 2009!
* This year, we are taking our show on the road! We will be working with women's organizations in our community and spreading the message of empowerment with these lovely ladies. If you know of an organization that we could meet with, please let us know.
