Journal Archive

Welcome to the inside of my head!!!! My journal is a place where I let my thoughts off their leash and they get to run free. Unafraid of what others might think, feel, or say. Here I will be sharing with you everything that is important to me. That could be anything from the state of our beloved planet to my new favorite nail polish. Do your thoughts have a playground where they can let loose and be free? I invite you to "gift" yourself and your thoughts by keeping a journal. You never know what new and fun things you might find in there.Tomiko
I've been attending a seminar series led by Marianne Williamson over the past few weeks. Marianne is one of my "Goddess mentors". I read her book, "A Woman's Worth" many years ago and it was one of the sparks that ignited me on my purpose of empowering women around the world. She's also responsible for the following very famous quote:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Basically, she embraces her light and encourages other to embrace theirs as well. She's great! : )
I was especially affected by something that she shared at a recent seminar. She told us that we humans have it backwards. We believe that struggle, strife, heartache, etc. is normal. We shrug it off by saying, "That's life". Marianne told us that the true nature of life is the existence of miracles. Because we are born of the divine and our birthright is to live a life of love, great health, prosperity, peace and so on, miracles SHOULD be the norm. But we don't expect them or believe them to exist. Now you know as well as I do that our thoughts and words create our reality. So if we believe that life is hard, then it will be. But, if we can train ourselves or re-member our divine truth, that miracles do exist, we then open the door for them to appear.
And that's just what I've been doing these past few days - expecting and accepting miracles. Each morning during my meditation, I think just that...."I expect and accept miracles!" I am working to realign mySELF with the truth of my existence.....all things wonderful are meant for me (and you). Now, I haven't experienced a miracle yet, but I know they are coming. I really do. I have many areas in my life that could REALLY benefit from a miracle right now. I've been so caught up in the struggle that a miracle could have hit me over the head and I would have missed it. But now that I'm expecting it, I am positive that they will come.
I invite you to welcome miracles into your life. Even if you can't see how your current problem is going to be solved, welcome them anyway. Make a space in your spirit and heart for wondrous events to take place. Believe, surrender and trust.
Please write me and let me know how your miracles are showing up. I promise to keep you posted about mine.
Ahhh, New Year's Day! The promise of new beginnings and do overs. A time of working out, better eating, travel, less tv, and more resolutions than we know what to do with. I have yet to write down my intentions and I'm feeling a little lost. Nothing like a long list of intentions to give a girl purpose. : )
But seriously, what is it about a new year that brings out the "Yes We Can" in all of us? Why do we use the first of the year as a start date for success? Whatever the reason, many businesses (gyms immediately come to mind) make a killing during the month of January. The question is how to maintain momentum throughout the year.
The way that I'm able to stay on track is with the help of loved ones. My husband and I invited a small group of friends to create an accountability group with us. We started last May and it has been a great success. We meet twice a month and our purpose is to support each of our individual goals. These goals can be either personal or professional. I can honestly say that the encouragement of this group has helped me stay focused and reach my goals.
You can create your own group. Find a few friends that are also up to creating a dynamic life and invite them to join your group. Everyone brings a list of what they're working on and the group offers advice, support and encouragement. Someone takes notes and everyone leaves with a list of action item to work on. At the next meeting, each member updates the group on what they've accomplished and what their challenges were. If they weren't able to reach a goal and would still like to, it's added onto their action item list for the meeting. Simple formula that warrants great results.
Here's to creating an amazing life for yourself this year and going forward. You don't have to do it alone. Let your loved one keep you lifted.
My group is meeting next week, so I'd better get started with my intentions. I've got some great things to accomplish this year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HAPPY NEW YOU!

Hey there...I have often asked myself why we just don't carry the spirit of December 31st into every evening? We should celebrate everyday that we have as if it is New Years' Eve...certainly there is something you have accomplished that was great; a kindness you extended or an unexpected opportunity that you partook of to reflect on--perhaps you made a mistake and checked yourself on it...THAT is a positive thing! Also there are things we did NOT accomplish today--why can't we forgive ourselves and resolve to take care of them the next day? The countdown happens at bedtime---5...4...3...2...1--HAPPY NEW DAY!!!! HAPPY NEW US! We can start anew with our agenda resumed and steady goes the moments until we reach a new one...every moment is a reason to celebrate and a chance to begin once more. What a blessing life is!

HAPPY NEW DAY! JoNell, thank you for reminding us that each day is a new opportunity. That's why they call it 'the present'. The longest journey begins with a single step. Yadda yadda but in the end it's true! The love you take is equal to the love you make (c)...
