Journal Archive

Welcome to the inside of my head!!!! My journal is a place where I let my thoughts off their leash and they get to run free. Unafraid of what others might think, feel, or say. Here I will be sharing with you everything that is important to me. That could be anything from the state of our beloved planet to my new favorite nail polish. Do your thoughts have a playground where they can let loose and be free? I invite you to "gift" yourself and your thoughts by keeping a journal. You never know what new and fun things you might find in there.Tomiko
First, my apologies for being a week late with updating the site. I was in the final stages of preparation for "Born With It" - the first community outreach workshop created by Tomiko Fraser's Goddess Gathering. On April 5th, about 50 teenage girls and women attended a day-long empowerment workshop created to provide them with the guidance, tools and support to live empowered lives. What an amazing day it was!!! Everyone from the participants to the goddesses to the volunteers were all affected by the loving and inspiring vibe of the day. I owe many thanks to all who made the day the success that it was. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
As I sit here thinking about the day, I am struck by the fact that everyone involved made a difference in the participants' lives. Let that sink in for a minute....... We made a difference in someone's life. Just by our being who were are, we had a positive impact on the lives of the teens and women who attended the workshop. Wow! And the even sweeter thing is that they all made a difference in our lives. It was a "win/win" situation. Everybody left feeling more alive than when they arrived.
Making a difference in someone's life is the gift that keeps on giving. Whether that difference is as large as building them a new home like on "Extreme Home Makeover" (one of my favorite shows) or donating a kidney, or as "small" as giving someone directions or smiling at them - you never know the impact your kindness will have on someone. Just think about the times when someone made a difference in your life and how great that felt. We all have numerous opportunities in our day to make a difference in someone's life. Take the time and look for those opportunities. I guarantee you that it will leave a smile on your face. I'm still smiling from Saturday's workshop and I know I will be doing so for many more days to come. : )
